Hale & Hearty Returns, Reopens East Williamsburg Location

Hale and Hearty Soups factory on Waterbury street has reopened

Office worker favorite Hale & Hearty Soups has returned reopening the East Williamsburg factory that closed following the pandemic.

In the years since the factory on Waterbury Street closed, the warehouses have become the city’s latest, hottest party district. Surrounded by underground and all-night clubs, the former factory and warehouse once again is sporting a Hale and Hearty logo.

A new website is under construction too, but as of last two weeks ago, the company was looking for a social media manager, according to a sign posted on the building.

At it’s peak, the chain had 32 stories, Eater reports, but with midtown empty, the overpriced lunches that depended on on desperate office workers to sustain themselves lost their critical customer base. 16 stores survived until the summer of 2022 when the all suddenly shut down unexpectedly.

A year ago, the remains of the company were acquired following bankruptcy and the new compaany will operate from kiosks and pushcarts, according to Eater.

For now, party goers stumbling out of places like Anchored Inn or Three Dollar Bills may notice the smell of their favorite day-time soup coming from the factory.
