The shelves aren’t even fully stocked yet, but a new combination bodega and Asian market has opened on Grand Street.

Once something of a rarity, Japanese-style convenience stores have been popping up around the city like Mitsuki in Greenpoint and Ten Ichi Mart in downtown Williamsburg.

The new shop located at 517 Grand Street hasn’t entirely filled it shelves yet. There are traditional bodega products like jarred spaghetti sauce and bleach, but the majority of the inventory is specialty products more common in Japanese convenience stores.

The refrigerator sections have foods common in Japanese convenience stores. The freezer section is also stocked with a variety of frozen fish.

The products include pan-Asian foods, candy, and snacks.

There are a number of household products and beauty products commonly found at Asian markets.

An entire refrigerator section is yet to be stocked at all and some of the shelves remain empty.
