Il Passatore Set to Close

Il Passatore Trattoria has been serving East Williamsburg since 2008, but come February 2, the doors will close.
A note on the door explained how the COVID-19 pandemic and the rapidly rising cost of inflation has created challenges for the tiny restaurant.
Childhood friends Massimiliano “Max” Barbizzi and Christian Ciarapica had been waiters at Piadina in the West Village before opening the restaurant. The Bushwick Avenue location had just 25 seats serving up “northern” Italian cuisine.
Barbizzi and Ciarapica also founded Testo, a similar restaurant a few blocks closer to the G train that remains open.
