Renovations at 771 Grand Portent a New Restaurant

By on Saturday, August 3rd, 2024 at 11:33 am

771 Grand is currently being renovated after sitting vacant for years

The storefront at the corner of Grand and Humbldt is in the middle of a renovation suggestion a new bar or restaurant is coming soon.

771 Grand Street had been home to Masha and the Bear, a soviet-era themed gastropub serving homemade vodka. A write up in the New Yorker turned the neighborhood spot into a hot ticket restaurant for few months, but after the initial fanfare, the crowds didn’t continue coming.

The restaurant closed in February of 2019, and since then the property has sat empty. That appears to be about to change.

Workers were renovating the space earlier this week, and an on-premise license was issued for July 31. The business is listed as Little Grand.
