Caribbean Plant Cuisine Coming to Union Ave

The “turn-key” restaurant at 234 Union Avenue is about to become HAAM, a Caribbean plant restaurant.
HAAM has operated as a ghost kitchen out of other restaurants, but that will change by mid-November when the new storefront opens.
The interior of the space looks ready to go. The location had previously served as a Latin based restaurant, bar, and burger joint.
Grub Street has a write-up of chef of the new restaurant, Yesenia Ramdass, who grew up in Washington Heights. The focus is on traditional recipes with the meat replaced with plant-based alternatives.
