A new Korean fried chicken shop has opened in Greenpoint.
Sweetie’s had a soft opening this weekend and the shop was serving up chicken, Korean hot dogs, and other Korean favorites.
The new shop is located at 676 Manhattan Ave in Greenpoint.
The dining room has several tables for in-store dining. Part of the restaurant was still being set up on Sunday with a boxes stacked in the back section.
Sweetie’s has a big selection of sauces to top chicken and Korean hot dogs with. The sauces are self-service squeeze bottles.
The Korean hot dog was well-fried with nice chunks of potato. The hot dog tasted like a pork frank, which is less common in New York where beef franks tend to dominate.
The shop had a steady flow of curious people passing by on Sunday. The staff were kind and the food came out quickly.
Inside is a big neon logo hanging on the wall.
