A liquor license application for a new wine bar at 173 Montrose Avenue would bring a wine bar to the small retail space.
The retail gate has a fresh coat of blue paint and the deck in front of the shop has been renovated.
The liquor license application says it will be known as Marcela’s Wine Bar.
The location had been home to Bagcock fried chicken. Bagcock served delicious fried chicken and donuts from Chef Gillian Clark. The restaurant had been in the process of acquiring a liquor license when the pandemic shuttered the store. Before that it had been a Brooklyn Mac, a restaurant focused on various types of Mac and Cheese with fillings like keilbasa (The Greenpoint) or Ranch Dress and Hot Sauce (The Bed Stuy).
