The construction netting around the upper floors of the Umbrella Factory came down a few weeks back revealing the glassy facade.

Located at 710 Metropolitan Avenue, the development of new apartments merges historic buildings with a new upper floor.
The original factory dates back to the 1940s from the Embee Sunshade Company, manufacturers of custom umbrellas.

The old building had been home to artists and writers and the collective, Wendy’s Subway, previously located at 722 Metropolitan Ave.
The current listings include apartments from $600,000 to $2.5 million, which seems like a lot for a building located on a busy truck route.
