Metal Frame Extends 754 Grand Street

By on Friday, December 24th, 2021 at 6:16 am

metal frames have been added to 754 Grand Street to extend the height of the building

A century-old building currently under renovation is gaining height thanks to a new metal frame.

The building dates from 1920 and had apartments and a retail space.

Many of the buildings along Grand Street and the commercial districts in the surrounding neighborhood have seen similar extensions adding to the total floor space while preserving the older facade.

Old tax photos show the building in the 1940s when Grand Street still had a trolly line.

A crane lifted the metal frame to the roofline
