The Domino Sugar factory is finally set to be redeveloped.
Much of the site will be cleared out. The old brick building will be adapted into an office space and surrounded by high-rise towers. Those towers will be mixed-use and contain apartments and offices above retail.
The developer is hosting a Kara Walker sculpture exhibit currently in the main building featuring sculpture made from sugar. The gallery is free and open to the public.
The site has been prepared for construction to start. Inside the construction fence, the property has been cleared.
Old factory equipment remains inside.
